Dear CEC Faculty and Staff,

We would like to inform you about an important initiative that we are undertaking to ensure the security and compliance of our CEC IT infrastructure with the FIU cybersecurity policies.

To address any vulnerabilities detected in the operating systems or applications installed on your work computers, we will be applying critical security patches regularly. These patches are designed to remediate any potential security risks and maintain the integrity of our systems.

Following is the weekly schedule in which the security patches will be released for the computers in each department:

To facilitate this process, we kindly request that you save all your work and data before leaving for the day. Additionally, please keep your computer turned on so that it can receive the security patches during non-working hours. While the patches are being installed, you are still able to use your computer; however, a system restart may be necessary afterward to complete the installation. If a restart is required, you will see a notification on your screen prompting you to proceed with the reboot.

Please note that this will be an ongoing effort, and your computer will receive these patches every week according to the schedule set for your department. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping your computers up-to-date and secure.
